🔥 Acelerando flujos de datos y modelos de aprendizaje

Details

Summer is over, but PyData Madrid is back! We meet again in September to talk about Python, Data, Visualization, Artificial Intelligence, and more!

The event will take place at The Bridge (Paseo de Recoletos, 15), a digital school that generously offered their venue for our event.

This time, we will have the pleasure of having these two talks:

  • Valery Calderón Briz (19:15-19:45), Sr. Data Engineer at Capitole Consulting, will talk about how they optimized a complete data pipeline and managed to decrease 70 % the execution time using the same infrastructure but a different strategy (in Spanish).
  • Thomas Buhrmann and Elena Martínez (19:45-20:15), Principal Data Scientist and Head of Data Literacy at Graphext respectively, will talk about a new Python library Graphext is using to accelerate machine learning models and minimize inference errors, with applications on social network analysis (in Spanish).

After the meeting, we will go to James Joyce Irish Pub (59 Alcalá st) to have a bite and do a bit of networking.

General recommendations:

  • Are you an expert in Python and Data? Are you a beginner and you want to learn more? In both cases, you are very welcome!
  • Apply the "Pacman rule": if you're in a circle, leave a gap so that someone else can join.
  • If you don't speak good Spanish, we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. But be mindful that other attendees might want to use their native language in larger conversations. Use this opportunity to practice your Spanish! If you are bored, feel free approach the organizers and say «Hi!»
  • At PyData events there is a Code of Conduct https://pydata.org/code-of-conduct/ super short version: be kind (all else is details), abstain from insulting others or making sexist, racist, or other exclusionary jokes, and do absolutely not make sexual advances to other attendees.

COVID-19 safety measures

Event will be indoors
Everyone is free to wear or not their mask. If you have symptoms even if they are mild or have been in close contact with a confirmed case, don't wait for the antigen test: just stay at home. We will meet at some other time! If you don't know how to greet folks in these pandemic times, you can wave your hand from afar or present your fist or elbow. There is no need to shake hands, hug, or kiss if you don't want to.
The event host is instituting the above safety measures for this event. Meetup is not responsible for ensuring, and will not independently verify, that these precautions are followed.
