TALKS / CHARLAS

Explore the nuances of Python's floating point arithmetic and uncover strategies to tackle rounding issues. From currency amounts to precise numerical computations, learn how to navigate Python's float quirks and ensure accuracy in your calculations.

  • Scaling down to scale up: Distilling LLMs into Efficient Transformer Models (in English)

In this insightful session, Hugo Jiménez will explore the cutting-edge technique of model distillation as applied to Large Language Models (LLMs). Attendees will learn how the process of distillation enables the creation of highly efficient transformer models that maintain the robust capabilities of their larger predecessors while operating with significantly reduced computational demands. This talk will highlight the practical applications and advantages of smaller, more agile models in real-world scenarios, demonstrating how scaling down can effectively scale up performance and accessibility.

  • Tech/AI Communities around diversity (A. Rosa Castillo - in English)

Have a look at the different groups that are improving diversity in Tech and AI.

  • Effortless API testing with Requests-Mock (Diego de Aguilar - in English)

In this 5 minute talk Diego will present us requests-mock, a library you can use for testing your API calls done with the popular requests package. Avoid leaving flows untested by abusing patching and detect errors before they reach production. Requests-mock is verbose and easy to use. Multiple use cases will be presented and solved with it.
