Hi everybody,

We are excited to announce our 3rd Virtual PyData Piraeus meetup!

Friday 31st July at 7PM, we are honoured to welcome, for the first time in Greece, the world renowned Data Scientist Cameron Davidson-Pilon, who will be addressing the subject of Modern Survival Analysis!

Abstract:
A recent Twitter poll showed that many practitioners of AI and ML were unaware of survival analysis. We'll begin with a light introduction to survival analysis, and then discuss the modern toolkit of survival analysis and Python packages to help.

Bio:
Cameron Davidson-Pilon has worked in many areas of applied statistics, from the evolutionary dynamics of genes to modelling of financial prices. His contributions to the community include lifelines, an implementation of survival analysis in Python, lifetimes, and Bayesian Methods for Hackers, an open source book & printed book on Bayesian analysis. Formally Director of Data Science at Shopify, Cameron is now applying data science to food microbiology.
