PyData Prague #13 - In Good We Rust

Hello Python vivisectors & data manipulators!
The 13th Prague PyData meetup will take place at new Deepnote offices. As usual, the talks will start at 18:30 but we encourage you to come as soon as 18:00 to enjoy the opportunity to socialize and refresh yourselves (which you can continue doing during the break and after the talks). Our main goal is to build the community around Python and data and make it welcoming to people of various skills and experience levels.
⚡ If you are interested in giving a lightning talk (up to 5 minutes to present an idea, tool or results related at least to some degree to Python and/or data), please contact us before the event or at its beginning.

📢 Talk 1: Async Python modules in Rust
(Ondřej Vostál, ChainKeepers)

I'll demonstrate how to write a Python module in Rust. What's more, the module will communicate both ways between Python and Rust using asyncio and tokio. After the talk, you'll be able to write an app that asynchronously processes data in Rust without holding the GIL. The main advantage of this approach as opposed to microservices is less boilerplate and saving the IPC overhead.

📢 Talk 2: How we built a Python SDK for our (open) APIs
(Jan Soubusta, GoodData)
During this session, we will present how we built and open-sourced a Python SDK for our analytics APIs covered by OpenAPI specification. We will share best practices applied on Python projects (data classes, services, tests, documentation, Github actions, pip, ...). In the end, we will conduct a live demo - Github APIs -> PostgreSQL -> dbt -> GoodData -> Deepnote(GoodData Python SDK).
