PyData Prague #28 - Terminal Request

Details
š Hello data wranglers and Python lovers!
šļø The 28th Prague PyData meetup will take place at Prusa Research. Note that this time we're starting a bit earlier than usual ā the doors will open at 17:30 and the talks will begin at 18:00 (which is 30 minutes earlier than our regular schedule). We encourage you to come early to enjoy the opportunity to socialise and refresh yourselves (which you can continue doing during the break and after the talks).
š¤ Our main goal is to build the community around Python and data and make it welcoming to people of various skills and experience levels.
ā” If you are interested in giving a lightning talk (up to 5 minutes to present an idea, tool or results related at least to some degree to Python and/or data), please contact us before or during the event.
š¢ Data wrangling in a modern terminal
Jan Pipek
Once we constrain ourselves to a rectangle of fixed-width characters (preferably white on a black background), we start to see the world a bit differently. If we want to thoroughly investigate it (a.k.a. perform data analysis), we have to be equipped with appropriate tools - be it techniques, libraries or standalone console-based applications. Let's see what the terminal has to offer when reading, manipulating, presenting and even plotting numerical data. We might even finish with a live dashboard your audience will love (or perhaps will not).
š¢ Right-Sized Scaling: Python APIs at Billions of Requests Without the Complexity
Jakub Zikl
At [Printables.com](https://www.printables.com/), we handle billions of requests every month using a fairly simple, Python-based API stack that scales reliably without unnecessary complexity. In this talk, Iāll share how embracing pragmatism over hype helped us avoid overengineeringāproving that microservices and complex architectures arenāt always the answer for every challenge. Weāll explore key design choices, real-world bottlenecks, and practical lessons from our journey to build a maintainable, cost-effective system that delivers at scale. Whether youāre growing a startup or managing a mature platform, youāll gain actionable insights for scaling Python APIs with confidence.
š Special bonus!
Thanks to Prusa Research, attendees of this meetup will have a unique opportunity to visit their legendary print farm! šØļø There will be a guided tour where youāll get to see how their 3D printers work together at scale ā itās a truly awesome experience you wonāt want to miss.
Please, RSVP here.
See you soon,
PyData Prague team
