Note : We need to stick to time very closely. We will start the event and the first talk at 10 am dot on April 14, 2019. Please be on time

This time a perfect blend of academics and industry will be there.
Line Up:

1. Introduction to R language and handling astronomical datasets

   An introduction to R language and statistics with R will be covered. This will include introduction to the data visualization with R. She will give a walk-through for a real life case study from astronomy domain explaining each stage of data analysis and how to do it in R.

2. Probability Distributions - What They Are And How Scientists Use Them?

   The speaker will begin with what random variables are and how probability distributions are needed and used to describe their behavior. The speaker will give some examples of probability distributions and then proceed to talk about one of the older yet often not intuitively grasped distribution known as the chi-square distribution. The speaker will especially bring out how this distribution comes out naturally in the process of data modeling. The speaker will then conclude with some remarks on what probability distributions mean in the context of Machine Learning problems.
