Talk Title: "Machine learning in drug discovery"
Description:
Drug discovery R&D is still a huge challenge for the pharmaceutical industry. It is expensive, has a high percentage of failure in programmes and this translates into a high societal cost. In this talk, we will give an overview of the world of how the BenevolentAI platform is trying to improve and speed up the process of drug discovery by using machine learning in different areas, focusing more in the area of chemistry.
Speaker/Bio: Ana Solaguren-Beascoa Negre, PhD.
Ana studied physics at University of Barcelona and did her PhD in theoretical particle physics at the TUM - max plank institut fuer physik. She has been living in London for over 4.5 years and working as a data scientist for 3.5 years. She spent 2.5 years working in a fintech and about a year ago she moved to benevolent AI.
