8th Meet up: An Introduction to Recommender Systems in Python

Recommender systems are present everywhere. This presentation will introduce the theory that underpins recommender systems. Then it will demonstrate these concepts via a short tutorial on the singular value decomposition, and the alternating least squares approach with the popular movielens dataset.
