Title: Cyber Security Vulnerability Management and Graph Database Technology

Presentation Overview:
Vulnerability Management in cyber security is generally defined as a lifecycle management problem for owners and managers of IT systems ranging in size from the smallest to the largest of organizations. As the Mitre Common Vulnerabilities Exchange (CVE) database of known vulnerabilities continues to grow annually at a rate now exceeding 18,000/yr, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities has become a mission critical function for all IT departments. Effective vulnerability management depends on the understanding of the complex relationships between very large data sets continuously generated from diverse sources. Traditional relational data models are often used to consolidate data into a central reporting database for discovering and tracking vulnerabilities. This presentation will explore the problem space of vulnerability management and how graph database technology might be used to augment traditional data models used today.
