About "One Platform to Rule Them All. How Databricks Is Taking the Data Market by Storm?"

Databricks is one of the most popular data platforms, releasing new features almost every month. However, few people have a holistic view of the platform, resulting in many implementations suffering from avoidable architectural, governance, and cost control mistakes.

I'll walk through the most common pitfalls from 7 real-world Databricks projects and show how to avoid them with proven best practices. Then, using Cursor and the Databricks MCP server, I'll build a working data platform live in just a few minutes.

You'll leave with a mental map of the platform, a checklist of mistakes to avoid, and a faster, more reliable workflow for setting up Databricks.

Łukasz Wybieralski - is the CTO at Dateonic, working at the intersection of business and technology for his entire career. Currently focused on Databricks and building data platforms for clients: a single place to organize all of a company's data and make it easier to use in the business.

We are thankful to Łukasz Wybieralski and dateonic team for sponsoring this edition's pizza 🍕 - more details on what they are busy with - https://dateonic.com/

About "AI in the Enterprise: From harness to governance"

During the talk you will understand:

  • Why enterprise AI plays by different rules than a startup, and what that means for cost, security and compliance
  • Why the harness (the skills, rules and workflows around the model) matters as much as the model itself
  • How to build an internal AI tooling marketplace that gets better with every session
  • How to match models to tasks and fix your inputs, so you pay for results, not tokens
  • Code graphs, CPU embeddings and Spec-Driven Development: AI that actually understands your codebase
  • Governance by design: human-in-the-loop, hard stops and the AI Act built in from day one

Rafał Korszuń has spent over 20 years building software and shipping it inside companies. Today he works with JIT Team and helps enterprises adopt AI so it delivers in production, not just in slide decks. He runs his own company, Kleder. His take: AI doesn't create new problems in an organisation. It amplifies the ones already there, and the strengths too. That's why he starts with people and processes and picks the tools last. On Saturdays he shares programming know-how on his Twitch stream.
