NumFOCUS Build Night 1
Hosted by PyData Chicago
Details
Aching to submit your first pull request to an open source project? Wondering how you can take your coding chops to the next level? Wanna become a data tools pro? Looking to hang out with interesting people who use PyData tools in everything from education to space exploration? Come join us at NumFOCUS Night, an evening of fun hacking, great friends, and new knowledge gained!
Event Schedule
6:00pm to 9:00pm: HACK ALL THE THINGS!
Getting to the Room
We'll be meeting in the study room in the northwest corner of the 7th floor. Walk away from the elevators until you hit the West wall, then turn North and walk until you see the study room. Alternatively, ask a friendly librarian where the North study room is.
What Happens at Build Nights?
For new open source contributors, veterans will help you through the process of identifying issues to work on and submitting a pull request.
People already comfortable working on open source projects can come with an idea of something they'd like to work on and recruit others to help. If you have no idea what you'd like to work on, that's fine too! You can pair with someone else or we can suggest open issues based on your interests.
Code of Conduct
To ensure the safety and comfort of attendees, we will be strictly following the NumFOCUS Code of Conduct at this event.
