Monthly PyGrunn - Markov chains and Python
Details
Nicky van Foreest will present his work on Markov chains using Python. The main part of the talk will be about what a Markov chain is, and for what to use it. Then he'll show how to build such chains in Python, and analyse them. If time (and interest) remains, he can extend this to the control of Markov chains, for instance the (optimal) control of queueing systems (e.g., job scheduling in operating systems, shops, and so on).
Monthly PyGrunn's are the monthly edition of the renowned and primary Dutch Python conference called PyGrunn (http://www.pygrunn.org). Monthlies are held every second Tuesday of the month. Topics will be announced in time. More info can be found on PyGrunn.org. Discussions are held at either Twitter (@pygrunn) or Google+ (https://plus.google.com/u/1/communities/100366363140062149195).
