PyHawaii July Meeting

PyHawaii will be having a meeting at the end of July with two talks this month. The first talk will be by Andrew Vogel about engineering failures and running post-mortems.

"Engineering failures don't have a single cause. We build layered systems with safeguards at every level, and it takes multiple issues stacking up to build a public-facing failure. Blameless post-mortems are critical to finding all these failures. Testing assumptions a the most granular level you can fit within business needs is critical to successful blameless post-mortems."

I will also give a talk on memray ( https://github.com/bloomberg/memray ). Memray is a memory profiler that allows you to track and observe memory allocations in python and determine what is causing excessive memory usage. This talk will be a brief intro to using memray.

About the speaker:
Andrew is a Stanford graduate that's worked previously with Trimble, VMWare, Nest/Google Home, and RenewHome. He's worked extensively on orchestration frameworks and end-to-end testing of software systems.
