What we’re about
Pykonik is Kraków Python User Group. As Pykonik we create a place in time and space for AFK meetings.
Our target audience consists of professionals, hobbysts, and people just starting their adventure in the world of programming. Our goals are as various as our diverse our community is. The ones that drive us are experiences exchange, Python community integration, and developin and spreading good words abouty Python and Python libraries.
How to achieve those? With passion and energy of Pythonistas from Kraków!

See all- Pykonik #77: Optimizing PyTorch Tensors and Handling DB Changes w/o DowntimeCracow University of Technology, Kraków
Pykonik Tech Talks #77 will be hosted at Politechnika Krakowska (Budynek Działownia) on 5th June at 18:00. Join us to hear about optimizing tensor operations in PyTorch and seamless DB changes without downtime!
You can also expect lightning talks - up to ~5 min talks that anyone can give on pretty much any topic!
There is also a live stream planned!
Agenda:

~20:45 – The End & going to the after party🇵🇱 Optimizing tensor operations in PyTorch - Vladimir Mitiouchev
This talk covers practical tips for optimizing tensor operations in PyTorch. Learn how to speed up your code using efficient indexing, broadcasting, in-place operations, jitting, and proper device management to get the most out of your CPU or GPU.🇬🇧 Seamless Deployments: Handling DB Changes Without Downtime - Piotr Gnus
Have you ever deployed to production?
Is your project connecting to a database?
Does this database need some changes in the structure?
Have you just ignored what happens with your production between the time you execute DB migrations and restart workers with new code?If you answered "YES" to all those questions, this presentation is just for you!
I will teach you how to deploy your DB changes with zero downtime*!
Discover how to plan your code changes and deployments to ensure seamless access to your database—without any risk of your application momentarily falling out of sync. In this session, you'll learn techniques that prevent those brief but critical moments when your code might be a step ahead or behind your database schema. We'll also explore the broader benefits of this approach, including improved stability, smoother rollouts, and enhanced user experience.* This isn't true zero-downtime really, but bear with me! More on the presentation!
Lightning talks
There is no synopsis there! Lightning talks are determined during meeting! Each participant can ask for a mic and (if need) projector screen to present for up to 5 minutes about any Python related or unrelated topic! Just raise your hand when we ask during the meeting who wants to give a Lightning talk or approach one of the organizers.Discord
