A practical, hands-on intro to web scraping using Python.

This workshop will happen during PyConLT 2026 conference and it is FREE for everyone, just don't forget to grab your free ticket here. Lunch is included :)

In this workshop, you will learn how to parse a product-page HTML into a structured output, scrape it and crawl multiple product pages.
We will be using these libraries:

  • lxml - for parsing the HTML using XPath syntax.
  • httpx - an HTTP client for scraping search & product pages.
  • asyncio - allowing us to scrape asynchronously.

We will be scraping & parsing the Oxylabs Scraping Sandbox.

Prerequisites

  • Python fundamentals
  • A basic understanding of how asynchronous programming works
  • Python 3.12+ and a working IDE, like PyCharm or VS Code

🌸 Ieva Šataitė
Ieva is a self-taught developer who began her career at Oxylabs as a Junior Python Developer. Over time, her role evolved into Web Scraping Engineer, and she now focuses on R&D, building and improving web scraping technologies. In her day-to-day work, Ieva explores new approaches to reliable, large-scale data extraction using Python.

Now, as the Head of Scraping R&D, Karolina is focused on developing scraping specialists, building innovative scraping solutions and fostering a strong community around this expertise.
