PyLadies Oslo Streamlit meetup

Details
Hei PyLadies, welcome to the first PyLadies Oslo meetup of the fall! This will be another Streamlit themed meetup. Streamlit is an easy way to create shareable dashboards and data apps in Python, and was the theme of our June meetup. This time, Aleksandra Redichkina will tell us about containerizing and running a Streamlit app, and Kate Kuzmina will go through hosting a Streamlit app on AWS. A big thanks to Experis for hosting, serving pizza and beverages!
You don’t need to be a PyLadies member to attend (but if you want to be, here is the link: https://members.pyladies.com/).
Agenda:
17:30: Mingle with pizza
18:00: Containerizing and running a Python-based GenAI App
18:30: Break
18:45: Hosting a Streamlit App on AWS
19:15: Get to know your fellow PyLadies better, enjoy the Experis terrace if the weather is nice
About the talks and speakers:
Containerizing and running a Python-based GenAI App
In this presentation, we will consider solutions for quick project startup. We will walk through the process of containerizing and running a Python-based Generative AI application using Docker, OpenAI, Neo4j, and Streamlit. Then, we'll explore the core components of the chat application on Streamlit and see how these technologies come together to create a functional and data-driven chatbot.
Aleksandra Redichkina is a Web Developer, AI enthusiast, and one of the developers in the AI-based FileBrain.Pro project.
Hosting a Streamlit App on AWS
Imagine having a working Streamlit app that's easily shareable and secure.
In this session, we'll guide you through the process of hosting your Streamlit app on AWS, making it accessible to others with user authentication.
We'll cover:
Serverless app hosting on AWS.
User authentication ensuring that only authorized users can access your app.
Setting up a custom domain and securing the app with HTTPS.
By the end of this session, you'll have a clear understanding of how to host a shareable Streamlit app with user authentication and a custom domain, along with the confidence to implement it yourself.
Kate Kuzmina is a Senior Consultant on the Data & Cloud team at Experis. She is driven by the practical application of data, cross-functional collaboration, open communication, and an inclusive culture.
