PyLadies Tunis is happy to announce its collaboration with ESSAI Junior Entreprise (https://www.facebook.com/Essai.Junior.Entreprise). We are organizing a joint new meetup: Getting Started With Pandas, Matplotlib and Seaborn libraries in Python. We are delighted to be hosting Stefanie Molin.

📌 This is an overview of the workshop:

  1. Getting Started With Pandas
  2. Data Wrangling
  3. Data Visualization
  4. Hands-On Data Analysis Lab

Invited Trainer: Stefanie Molin

➡️ Stefanie Molin (https://twitter.com/StefanieMolin) is a software engineer and data scientist at Bloomberg in New York City, where she tackles tough problems in information security, particularly those revolving around data wrangling/visualization, building tools for gathering data, and knowledge sharing. She is also the author of Hands-On Data Analysis with Pandas, which is currently in its second edition (https://www.amazon.com/Hands-Data-Analysis-Pandas-visualization/dp/1789615321). She holds a bachelor’s of science degree in operations research from Columbia University's Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in computer science, with a specialization in machine learning, from Georgia Tech. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world, inventing new recipes, and learning new languages spoken among both people and computers.

➡️ Workshop materials:

Stefanie will go through these materials 👉 https://github.com/stefmolin/pandas-workshop

➡️ Prerequisites:

You should have basic knowledge of Python and be comfortable working in Jupyter Notebooks. Check out this notebook (https://github.com/stefmolin/Hands-On-Data-Analysis-with-Pandas-2nd-edition/blob/master/ch_01/python_101.ipynb) for a crash course in Python. The environment we will use for this workshop comes with JupyterLab, which is pretty intuitive, but be sure to familiarize yourself using notebooks in JupyterLab (https://jupyterlab.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user/notebook.html) and additional functionality in JupyterLab (https://dzone.com/articles/getting-started-with-jupyterlab).

Place: Zoom
Date/Time: Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 7:30pm to 10:30pm (GMT +1)
