En février, nous (re)tombons en amour avec Python! Comme d'habitude, on va se retrouver autour de délicieux breuvages et de bonnes choses à manger (cupcakes!) pour jaser, réseauter et apprendre.

Plus en détails, Nicole Parrot et Blanca Mancila partagerons leur amour de la ligne de commande et du hardware (voir description en anglais plus bas). Avez vous déjà envoyé un tweet à une lampe? C'est le moment d'essayer! Et la magie du scripting? Oh oui! <3

Hello PyLadies!

Our February meetup is all about falling in love... with Python! Listen up as Blanca Mancilla and Nicole Parrot share their wits, humour and knowledge about hardware and the command line. As usual, we'll be getting together with delicious refreshments and nice snacks (cupcakes!), chatting, networking, and learning!

This is a tentative schedule and info about the talks to tease you :-)

-6:30 pm : Networking

-7:00 : Blanca Mancilla : Learn to love the command line

This talks aims to uncover some of the magic powers of scripting and the command line.

I'll share with you some of my experience using the shell to schedule backups of a git repository or to find strings in files of unknown name and location. And then you might see that it is a tough love!

Let's have fun with the IoT, the Internet of Things!Nicole will be presenting a project on how to turn a smart lamp into a Twitter monitoring device. There will be love and sparks between a Raspberry Pi and Clyde, an Arduino based lamp created in Montreal. The role of Cupid will be played by the twython library. The love arrow role will be given to PySerial.
