Santa Cruz PyLadies Speaker Night: Brigit Schroeder
Details
Every four weeks, PyLadies will have a speaker from the community teach us something interesting and/or talk about the awesome stuff they're working on!
The meetup will start at 6, with some snacks and beverages, and the talk(s) will start around 6:30.
Speaker: Brigit Schroeder
Brigit is a PhD student in the Computer Vision Lab at UCSC and will be talking about her recent work on exploring scene graphs for image layout generation. Scene graphs are a source of structured knowledge and have been used in tasks such as visual question and answer, image retrieval and image generation. A scene graph embedding, similar to a word embedding in nature, is generated in the process of training models for these image layout generation and provides a rich source of descriptive information about the objects found in imagery. Brigit will talk about her research which takes a deep dive into understanding these embeddings via visualization and retrieval using deep learning and computer vision.
