Agenda:
⏰ 6:15 pm
🎊 Arrive, drink, eat pizza and mingle
⏰ 6:40 - 6:50 pm. YouTube streaming starts.
🎊 Welcome & Intro by Anton Caceres, our host inovex
⏰ 7:00 - 7:30 pm + Q&A
🤖 Talk 1: Contract Testing: Why and How?
Speaker: Taha Shakibania, Backend developer at CELUS GmbH
Short description of the talk:
In this talk, we’ll explore how service dependencies in microservice architectures can slow down deployment cycles and compromise reliability. We'll introduce Contract Testing as a solution to these challenges, discussing its benefits in ensuring service independence and smoother integrations. Finally, we'll dive into practical examples of implementing Contract Testing in Python, enabling faster and more reliable deployments in your microservices ecosystem.
About Taha: he works in a team responsible for building and maintaining microservices with APIs that power CELUS’s complex electronics design platform. Drawing from his hands-on experience, Taha will share how he initiated the implementation of Contract Testing within his team, highlighting how it has improved reliability and achieved service independence in their microservice ecosystem.
⏰ 7:30 Break
⏰ 7:45 - 8:15 pm incl. Q&A
🤖 Talk 2: Build your OpenAI o1 model! (It's no rocket science!)
Speaker: Haris Jabbar, Founder of SuperPandas
Short description of the talk:
SuperPandas uses the latest techniques of Generative AI to turbocharge Python's data science ecosystem. Instead of being just another wrapper API, we develop our own models using the most cutting-edge technologies, like those used by OpenAI's o1/o3 models. One of these techniques is giving the LLMs 'reasoning capabilities. These reasoning algorithms are going to be at the forefront of LLMs in 2025. In this talk, I will give an overview of these algorithms and how (almost) anyone can build on them.
The Speaker:
Haris is a PhD student with over 4 years of experience working with LLMs. He has worked primarily with language representation and improving transformer architecture.
⏰ 8:15 - 8:30 pm
🤖 Talk 3: Knowledge management with chatbots: a multimodal approach to Confluence
Speaker: Denise Hartmann, Data & ML Engineer @inovex
Short description of the talk:
Discover advanced knowledge management in this talk on a multimodal RAG approach for Confluence, built on the open-source framework Onyx. This chatbot enhances user inquiries by integrating both text and image data. We will share insights and lessons learned along the way.
Speaker Bio: As a Data & ML Engineer at inovex, Denise, who has a background in mathematics and data science, spearheaded the design and implementation of this feature, harnessing the power of Generative AI to improve knowledge management.
⏰ 8:30 - 9:00 pm
