Talk description:
In this talk, Nikolai walks us through ClearOps’ journey of migrating their in-house data processing platform from Java and R to Python. He’ll share architecture decisions, performance hacks in Python, and how they managed the integration with existing Java and R components. The system now runs ~500k batch jobs per month in one region alone – and this is just the beginning. A glimpse into what’s coming next: a collaboration with TUM to plug in cutting-edge forecasting and inventory planning algorithms.

With over 15 years of software development experience, Nikolai brings a pragmatic perspective from years of consulting and product development. Since joining ClearOps, he’s been key to shaping its robust processing infrastructure.

About Marco:
Marco holds a PhD in experimental physics and has a deep background in chemistry and physics. He now works at a German AI startup focused on accelerating industrial R&D with cutting-edge models.
