Business automation made easy

Details
What if everyone at your company could write a little Python?
What if the marketing department could build their own API to specify what promotions should be offered on the website?
What if your HR department could build and maintain their own vacation approval system?
What if you could open up a diagram in a board meeting that fully described the business rules under discussion - perhaps avoiding a decision based on insufficient information?
Dan Funk will show us how to empower your company with the amazing tool SpiffWorkflow.
SpiffWorkflow Is an open-source library for executing BPMN Diagrams (think flow charts) and DMN Tables (think spreadsheets). BPMN is a way to visualize a set of business requirements in a way that makes sense to people from very different backgrounds but that can also be executed as software. SpiffWorkflow allows you to write snippets of Python as you connect user interactions to remote APIs and internal applications. It's business process automation, built by the people who most suffer at the hands of "Business Process Automation".
This talk will try to cover some of the following areas and can definitely shift based on what people are interested in hearing ...
- Demoing our Application so you get a sense of how it works.
- Discuss the problems and delights of building software development tools for non-developers
- How to create and maintain a healthy (and well-funded) open-source community.
