Refactoring with Chris May

Details

Refactoring is one of the best skills you can invest in. No matter where you go, you can effectively refactor existing code to make it easier to incorporate new requirements and make significant contributions to the team.

But what is refactoring? How do you know what to do? When should you do it?

In August, we will get a primer on refactoring by PyRVA co-founder Chris May.

Chris has been deep diving into how refactoring is treated in a few languages and is bringing his insights to the python community.

In this beginner-friendly talk, learn about:

  • What refactoring means
  • How to determine what needs refactoring
  • When are the best times to refactor

Join us on our Discord server and walk away with benefits you can use the next day!

PyRVA Meets twice a month. Feel free to come early and ask questions or hang out. After each meeting, we will generally hang out for a bit and can also answer any questions at that time.

Lecture Night: 2nd Wednesday of the month
We bring speakers from around the country to teach us something new about Python. You'll be able to ask the speaker(s) any questions you have on the topic.
Let us know if you would like to present at a future meeting! https://forms.gle/q8w3xziArWjud5f67

Coding Night: 4th Thursday of the month
Here you will find the Python challenge problems and projects we will solve together in small groups. Don't hesitate to contact an organizer if you're interested in proposing a project or topic.
