Python Edinburgh - August Talks

Details
We're back!
We have two talks, starting around 7pm. There will be food and drink, and time to network.
Talk 1: What year was that? Dating music posters with Python
by Iain Elder
Saturday 2nd August. What year was was that?" Do you get frustrated when you see an old poster for a show and struggle to figure out when the event took place? One Sunday my dad messaged me to rant about it. As an ex Fortran punchcard programmer, he was delighted to learn that you can answer the question with Python and a creative use of recurrence rules. It's declarative programming for your calendar!
Talk 2: Stupid Things I've Done With Python
by Mark Smith
Sometimes I do stupid things with Python. I'm not proud of it.
Okay, I am proud of it.
And I'm going to teach you some of my techniques.

We're looking for speakers for future events - if you have something interesting to say about Python or something like it, please submit a talk proposal: https://forms.gle/8pUhkeRnf9d4LxA19
