2nd Wednesday Talk - Introduction to Using and Extending Salt

Salt is an event-driven automation and orchestration platform written in Python for remote execution and configuration management. This talk will go over:

• Salt terminology and architecture
• Remote command execution and querying data on nodes
• Configuration management (maintaining remote nodes in defined states)
• Extending Salt functionality with Python modules

Also, we're going to have another "after hour." After the presentation is over, anyone who wants to stay and do a bit of coding or chatting is welcome to hang out. Think of it like a mini open workshop.

Nicholas Hughes is a founding partner and CEO of EITR Technologies LLC., a firm which helps businesses integrate automation for systems, cloud, and cybersecurity into their IT lifecycle processes.
