COVID-19 SchoolHack
School districts, CMOs, and charter schools across the United States are struggling with how to deliver high quality education to students amidst the COVID-19 crisis. Many schools have closed, impacting the learning and social emotional health of millions of students nationwide. Education leaders are in dire need of solutions NOW to help stem the crisis. Therefore, we decided to launch a school hack to match education organizations with experts to solve critical problems NOW.
What is the COVID-19 SchoolHack?
A 2-day virtual hackathon that brings together educators, technologists, engineers, designers, students, and industry professionals to address the most critical issues in K-12 caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
What problem areas will this event be focused on?
Supporting Vulnerable Students: How do we provide services to students with special needs, foster youth, and students with little/no technology access?
Supporting Education Organizations: How do we support districts and charter schools with instruction and operations during this time of crisis?
Dates: April 4 and April 5
Location: Virtual
Teams of 4-5 will be formed at the beginning of the event. We will use collaboration tools such as Zoom, Slack and Google Drive.
Who can participate?
Education Partners: Partner representatives can be CEOs, Executive Directors, Principals, CAOs, COOs, IT Directors, Curriculum Directors, and/or Special Education Directors of a school district or CMO. Education Partners submit a critical problem they need solved NOW. Partner time commitment (all times in PST):

Experts: Experts can be school leaders, district leaders, teachers, engineers, social workers, special education specialists, designers, technologists, industry leaders, graduate students, parents or high school students.
