From API documentation flagships to the inner workings of Git

Details

The Python meetup is back, with two excellent speakers!

  1. Dmitry Nazarov, on "The story of API documentation flagships: RAML vs Swagger"
Dmitry Nazarov is from St. Petersburg (2nd biggest city in Russia). He is a Backend Developer at Lisbon-based MBaaS soulplatform.com. He is the organizer of PiterPy Meetup (Python meetup in St. Petersburg), the organizer of Django Girls SPb, and PiterPy Conference program committee member.

At our meetup Dmitry will share his experience and talk about:

  • The story of API documentation in modern web and how Python relates to it
  • The lesser known ways to handle your API documentation creating feedback loop
  • Swagger and RAML: what to choose, why and when
  • Are there real alternatives to these two technologies
  • Why should you care at all
  1. Carlos Santos, on "How Git works and why should we care"
Carlos Santos is a data science engineer at James (formerly CrowdProcess), a Lisbon based Fintech company. He has a Msc. in Aerospace Engineering from IST, and worked as an applied research at the Institute for Systems and Robotics, SelfTech, TurfLynx and InnoWave Technologies before joining James. At our meetup Carlos will show us how Git works from a graphs perspective, and help us develop intuitions about what is going on in the background, leading to better decisions in daily work. As always, please do not take up a place if you will not be showing up. Repeat no-shows may be banned from future events.
