Perforated AI Neural Network Optimization Hackathon - Day 2

Join PyData Pittsburgh at Perforated AI's Neural Network Optimization Hackathon! Rorry Brenner, the founder and CEO of Perforated AI, gave a talk about the Perforated Backpropagation™ algorithm at PyData Pittsburgh's June 2024 event.

Unlike most hackathons, for this hackathon you can select your project in advance. Come to the first day with a PyTorch pipeline already built and learning properly on your dataset. This can be any project you want: a model from academic research, a commercial product, a personal project, or even an existing Kaggle competition. The goal of this hackathon is to see how much you can improve the predictive accuracy and computational efficiency of your initial PyTorch model using the Perforated Backpropagation™ algorithm and Python package.

The hackathon will take place over seven weeks, with two in-person days for kickoff and final presentations:

• Saturday, February 1: Kickoff Day
• February 2-March 21: Teams perform model development and optimization with Perforated Backpropagation™
• Saturday, March 22: Presentation Day

Winning teams will be awarded $6,000 in prize money, among a variety of smaller prizes!

Getting to the event

The Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship is located within the Tepper School of Business on the Carnegie Mellon University campus. After you arrive at the Tepper Quad, enter the main doors of the Tepper School building (on floor 2). The Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship is located on the third level (on floor 3) in Suite 3700.

Parking is available in the East Campus Garage on Forbes and Beeler Streets.
