Python Sees RF on a Budget: Exploring with a Radio, Pi, and Jupyter Notebooks

Details

Abstract:
There is an invisible world of RF signals to explore from household items and nature. Phones, microwave ovens, cars, power supplies, and thunderstorms are just some of the sources. This talk will show how Python can power a low cost tool for this adventure. By gluing together a software defined radio (SDR) to Jupyter notebooks on a Raspberry Pi with Python we can explore the RF environment anywhere and from anywhere. We will show how Python can merge insight with art to provide electromagnetic entertainment.

Speaker Bio:
Paul Otto is a software engineer and enjoys finding new ways to explore the world of wireless.

Light refreshments will be served.
