Speakers Bio:
- David Wan is a Senior Data Analyst at an multinational insurance firm, where he leverage Python and SQL to extract insights from data. Prior to his current role, he worked as a Quantitative Developer at a proprietary trading firm, where he developed software for quantitative trading strategies.
He will share his experiences with asynchronous programming in Python when connecting to APIs—a technique that has dramatically improved performance when handling large-scale requests.
- Alex Au is a Cloud Platform Engineer who has experiences in Cloud Native Technologies, Software Engineering and NLP Training. As an ex-Silicon Valley engineer, Alex Au has been dealing with AI infrastructure and contributes to training platform for AI engineers in his team.
Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the intersection of technology and creativity, often sharing insights at tech conferences like PyCon HK 2023 & 2024, and several community events.
- Mark's background is in linguistics, UX, and scripting. He builds user-facing workflows using data science/ai, data engineering/cloud, and gui/bi tools. He has 10 years’ experience in startups and large companies, in industries like advertising, consumer electronics, e-commerce, and SaaS.
He currently works at HSBC, turning actuaries’ financial models into automated, extensible, and interactive programs. His hobbies are hiking, photography, and mentoring.
