The Python Community in 2024

Details

'Doors open' at 1800 for water-cooler socialising. Formalities from 1830.

Where will we be going in 2024? A number of speakers will peer into their crystal-balls™ and offer thoughts from their corner of the Python eco-system. Including Tom Eastman, President of the New Zealand Python User Group and Danny Adair, Kiwi PyCon. Local members will discuss areas of interest including PyNoon, The When of Python project, Future of Python language, and more.

We will also take the opportunity to review how we do 'PUG', eg lack of interest in meeting in-person, how should we respond to wide-spread WfH? should we still hold two PUG-meetings per month, time(s) when we meet, etc - anything and everything is on-the-table!

Various member will talk of experiences with the VacExcHndlrs gatherings over the vacation, the Python Learning Co-op at the beginning of last year, the Django Learners, Professionals Networking, Integrations, Python and SBCs (MicroPython, CircuitPython, etc), Machine Learning (AI, Computer Vision, etc). Do you have a specialist area or topic to add? Is 'Python' such a wide concept these days, that such more-focused Special Interest Groups are a more social way to meet?

This meeting will be your chance to hear what's going-on, to ask questions and make suggestions of where you'd like to see your Python Users' Group to head in 2024.

All opinions are valid and valued, so please be assured that this invitation is equally extended to Beginners as to Python-Masters! All welcome! No presumption of Python expertise.
(bring a head-set to more-easily ask questions and participate in discussions)
