Ben Denham: Python Lights the Way
Ben will share his Summer hobby from the last few years - creating interactive Christmas light displays! This talk will highlight the true versatility of Python, and how easily it handled:
- Communicating back-and-forth with a web-application in real-time via websockets
- Driving Wi-Fi controlled lights with lightning fast animations powered by Numpy
- Learning to play a block-placement game from live player moves with River for online machine learning
- Tracking webcam motion with OpenCV to mirror movement on lights across multiple homes
Python talks! Python people! Discussions from how to start learning Python through to debugging your robot pirate spaceship avionics controller library. Or whatever. There is also food and soft drinks and BEER. :)
