Christchurch Python Meetup
Details
NOTE: We're meeting a week earlier than usual for this one.
ALSO: Note the change in venue.
Join our monthly meetup about all things Python - back at one of our previous venues - Environment Canterbury (ECan) at 200 Tuam Street.
This month's talk will be a collaboration between Mike Kittridge and Menno Finlay-Smits which examines many ways that your Python programs can store and transmit data including simple (and not so simple) files, Python’s pickle format, JSON and friends, protobuf, msgpack, Berkeley databases and SQLite. This whirlwind tour will explain the pros and cons of each approach and the ways each can be used in Python.
Doors open at 5:30pm, with the talk starting at 6pm.
For those who are interested, we are likely to head out for a drink and/or food somewhere nearby after the meetup.
Don't hesitate to pass this information around to whomever you think may be interested to hear and discuss all things Python.
PS: NZPUG's Code of Conduct applies for our local meetups and the online meetup.com group. Please read it up in case you haven't yet https://python.nz/code-of-conduct
We use a Discourse forum at https://python.chch.tech/ for communication and discussion about anything related to Python or the Christchurch Python meetup. You can also post comments here on Meetup.
