Ci incontreremo per un paio di talk e networking alle 18:00 presso la sede di Pescara dell'Università degli Studi "G. D'Annunzio" Aula 9-11.

18.00-18:20 - Accoglienza e networking 💬

18:20-18:50 - Python come primo linguaggio di programmazione - Gianluca Amato/Luca Moscardelli

In questa sessione, gli speaker, docenti di informatica all'Università d'Annunzio, racconteranno la loro esperienza nell'insegnamento di Python come primo linguaggio di programmazione nel corso di studi in Economia e Informatica per l'Impresa. In questo ruolo, Python è stato scelto da un paio d'anni per rimpiazzare il linguaggio Java. Saranno in particolare evidenziati:

• le motivazioni che hanno portato alla scelta di rimpiazzare Java con Python
• i punti di forza e di debolezza dell'uso di Python dal punto di vista didattico

18:50-19:30 - Cifrari fantastici e come violarli - Luca Di Vita

La crittografia è una delle colonne portanti della sicurezza moderna, ma cosa succede quando i cifrari che proteggono le nostre informazioni vengono messi alla prova? In questo talk, esploreremo insieme le basi matematiche che rendono sicuri alcuni dei cifrari più famosi, partendo da uno semplice come il Cesare, fino ad arrivare a quelli attualmente utilizzati come RSA e ElGamal. Con un pizzico di teoria dei numeri e un po' di logica, mostreremo come la crittografia possa essere decifrata e come le vulnerabilità siano sempre dietro l'angolo, pronte a essere sfruttate. Preparatevi a scoprire la bellezza dei numeri e la potenza della matematica per "rompere" quei sistemi che pensiamo invulnerabili. Un viaggio affascinante tra cifrari, codici e hack!

18:20-18:50 - Python as a first programming language - Gianluca Amato/Luca Moscardelli

In this session, the speakers, computer science professors at the University of Annunzio, will talk about their experience in teaching Python as the first programming language in the course of studies in Economics and Business Information Technology. In this role, Python has been chosen a couple of years ago to replace the Java language. In particular, the following will be highlighted:

• the reasons that led to the choice to replace Java with Python
• the strengths and weaknesses of using Python from an educational point of view

18:50-19:30 - Fantastic ciphers and how to break them - Luca Di Vita

Cryptography is one of the cornerstones of modern security, but what happens when the ciphers that protect our information are put to the test? In this talk, we will explore together the mathematical foundations that make some of the most famous ciphers secure, starting from a simple one like Caesar, up to those currently in use like RSA and ElGamal. With a pinch of number theory and a little logic, we will show how cryptography can be deciphered and how vulnerabilities are always around the corner, ready to be exploited. Get ready to discover the beauty of numbers and the power of mathematics to "break" those systems that we think are invulnerable. A fascinating journey through ciphers, codes and hacks!
