PythonWA Meetup December - Python Frontiers End of Year Super Panel
Details
For our December meetup, we’re excited to host a Q&A session focused on Python Frontiers — the rapidly evolving edges of what Python can do. Python is expanding well beyond its traditional roots in data science, back-end web development, and general-purpose scripting. We’ll explore how the language is both competing and collaborating with Rust, C, and JavaScript, as well as how it’s pushing into new territories such as mobile development, front-end experiences, cloud-native ecosystems, and physical automation.
Our panel of speakers will share insights from real-world projects, discuss emerging tooling and trends, and help us understand where Python is headed next. Whether you’re curious about cross-language interoperability, the future of Python on new platforms, or how these advances might shape your own work, this session will offer a forward-looking and engaging discussion.
Our panelists

He joined the Django core team in 2006, and was the President of the Django Software Foundation for 5 years. He joined the CPython core team in 2024. He is a frequent speaker at Python and Django conferences around the globe, sharing his experience as a FLOSS developer, community maintainer, and (unsuccessful) startup founder. In his day job, he is a Principal Engineer at Anaconda, working on BeeWare in the OSS team.
