What we’re about
Life in Hawaii is a unique experience in itself.
African Americans (Popolo's) have been a part of Hawaii's fabric for hundreds of years, but sometimes it hard to see Popolo's in the community.
If you are a Popolo or Hapa Popolo (mixed with Black) and looking to mingle with fellow Popolo's to connect with please check us out.
This group was designed for people who identify as Popolo. This group is not meant for sympathizers who are outside of the Popolo identity. This is not a political group.
We will meetup at local events, restaurants, theaters, etc.
If you have suggestions for an event, please message me (Tina).

Honolulu Museum African American festival kicks off with a reception in Luce Pavilion that includes a buffet dinner, live music, a cash bar, and the Hawai‘i premiere of The Fisherman in the Doris Duke Theatre at 7:30pm.
The Fisherman is a tale of family and resilience. It takes place in rural Ghana and focuses on Atta Oko, a proud traditional fisherman. When he is suddenly forced into retirement, his life takes a whimsical turn as he is partnered with a modern, bougie talking fish.
