Data Connect: Qatar

Details

As Qatar continues to embrace technology and move towards a more digitally-oriented and data-driven future, the demand for data science expertise will only continue to rise. With the right skills and training, individuals can thrive in this exciting and rapidly-growing field, helping to shape the future of industry and innovation in the country.

While the field of data science in Qatar is expanding rapidly, some challenges remain such as cost barriers, scalability, skill shortages, and data management. Such challenges make it difficult to develop effective models and strategies that are needed for creating solutions or making informed decisions.

In this Data Connect event, hosted by KNIME, in partnership with Capstone Property Qatar, we will be hearing from experts and professionals about some of the challenges to data science adoption in Qatar. We will also demonstrate how KNIME, a low code/no code data science tool, can help address some of these obstacles and propel us into a data-driven, AI-augmented future.

We welcome you to attend the Online Event. Please note that in-person attendance is by invitation only as seats are limited.

Meet the Speakers:

Tosin Adekanye

Tosin began her journey toward data science while majoring in psychology, running several experiments, and managing a research lab. She dove deeper into analytics by concentrating on Business Analytics in her MBA program. Tosin’s academic research background gave her a soft but solid foundation to build a data science career. Due to her unconventional entry into the field of data science, she strives to make the field more accessible to others. Currently, she works as a Data Scientist at the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, where she is building the future of Supertech as part of a wonderful team of innovators.

Roberto Cadili

Roberto is a data science evangelist at KNIME. After completing his Master’s degree in Linguistics and Translation Studies in Italy, he moved to Germany to start a new Bachelor’s degree in Economics and developed a genuine interest in statistics and data analysis. At the University of Konstanz, he pursued a Master’s degree in Social and Economic Data Science where he studied different machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures with an emphasis on Natural Language Processing.

Perttu Korhonen

Perttu has two decades of experience in micro and macroprudential banking analysis and analytics. The 2008 Global Financial Crisis was a turning point in Perttu’s career. While seconded to the European Central Bank in Frankfurt to support the decision-makers with an analysis of the unfolding events, he realized that the authorities did not have data of the scope and granularity that would be required for the timely management of such crisis periods. With the knowledge gained from years in the regulatory industry, and in organizations including the Bank of England, Perttu is developing the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority’s Vision 2030 for AI-augmented financial supervision, building a roadmap for the authority’s digital transformation, and leading a supervisory data science team to deliver the change.
