IMPORTANT EDIT: new zoom details included

Our speaker this month is Sarah Drummond, Founder and Director of Snook.

** Queer Service Design **

Service design is the practice of designing services. From travelling by train to visiting the GP, there are lots of micro design decisions that are made that make up the user experience, the things people see and interact with. When we're at the point of the interface, or deep in the language of code, or repository libraries we can often make design decisions that unconsciously harm people and in a queer world push a dominant heterosexual or gendered perspective of the world onto others.

Sarah will talk about service experiences where the devil is in the detail on making them queer inclusive, and how services, when they're designed, need scrutiny by diverse teams to ensure they are able to cater for diverse groups of users.

Our audio/video conference will use Zoom so there is no location for this event. You will need the zoom app installed on your computer or mobile device. Please keep yourself on mute when you’re not speaking.

As always, our code of conduct applies. https://queer-code.org/coc
