Deep Blue Dream Cyanotype Workshop: Mt. Tabor (25$)
Details
We will be learning the art of cameraless photography creating one-of-a-kind cyanotypes from nature and found objects! Bring a blanket to sit and work on ^_^ and whatever kind of snack you might need.
Fun fact: cyanotypes were the original blueprints! It comes from the Greek word cyan, meaning “dark-blue impression.” The cyanotype process was discovered by Sir John Herschel in 1842 using photo-sensitized paper and UV light.
Each time they are developed, our unique cyanotype art prints will be a work of magic, and we will make all sorts of exciting new discoveries while doing so. We'll learn about cyanotypes, what kinds of materials make solid impressions and how to ethically harvest, I will bring some from my own personal collection as well as historical cyanotypes for inspiration, and then we will head out to gather our materials and get printing.
Running this class for a super accessible 25$ (cash or zelle only day of- I normally teach cyanotype for 75/hr) and everyone will leave with their own small fabric cyanotype print for framing, sewing, or just keeping as a memory of a beautiful day outdoors ❤️ also, we'll start on time so PLEASE BE PUNCTUAL
ok, see you then, queers!
