Quality Engineering meetup #9

Details
In collaboration with JetBrains, Qase is presenting the ninth Meetup on Quality Engineering in Berlin.
This time, we’re bringing you three deep-dive talks — all designed to challenge the way you think about quality, testing, and collaboration.
As always, expect great conversations, snacks, and drinks. See you there!
AGENDA
1. Mitesh Patel, Technical Consultant - Scientific Instruments @ Altum Solutions: Digital Twins 101
Join us for an introductory talk exploring the frontiers of digital twins for testing complex systems — from software-defined vehicles and next-generation batteries to smart energy grids, AI-powered surgical robots, and beyond.
In this session, Mitesh will demystify the concept of digital twins: what they are, how they work, and why they are transforming industries by enabling safer, faster, and leaner development. Whether you’re curious about model-based systems engineering, X-in-the-loop simulation, or simply want to see how virtual replicas shape real-world performance, this talk is a great place to start.
2. Anupam Krishnamurthy, consultant: Automated testing of a Large Language Model
Have you wondered how you can perform automated testing of a Large Language Model like ChatGPT?
A major challenge with testing LLMs is their non-deterministic nature. Most automated software testing techniques rely on determinism for qualifying software, which makes them unsuitable for LLM testing. In this live-demo, I will show you a way to get around this. The spoiler — we need to prompt another LLM to act as a judge for the responses generated.
We will also explore the concept of RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) deeper. This technique is used whenever you upload a large document to an LLM and ask questions based on this document.
3. Vlad Konstantinov, QA Lead @ JetBrains: Slaying the Complexity Hydra: QA in Compose Multiplatform
Vlad will share his journey as the first QA engineer on the Compose Multiplatform team at JetBrains. Starting from a blank slate with no definition of quality and no established processes, he had to design testing strategies, build automation, and even shape the QA team itself.
As the product expanded from desktop to iOS and web, complexity grew faster than any one person could manage. Vlad will talk about how he balanced process, automation, and hiring to keep up, the milestones in Compose Multiplatform’s evolution of quality, and what lessons the team carries forward as they continue to scale.
