Quality Engineering meetup #1

Details
In collaboration with Regent AB and with three very sophisticated talks on our stage, Qase is presenting the first Meetup on Quality Engineering in Stockholm.
AGENDA
1. Maria Tuleika, Test automation lead, Regent AB: How to use AI to improve QA job security
Maria will discuss the evolving role of AI in Quality Assurance education, highlighting both the potential benefits and risks. Maria will outline rational strategies for incorporating AI into the learning and working environment, ensuring it complements rather than replaces human expertise. She will also address challenges like model collapse and provide insights into using AI effectively to foster continuous knowledge growth.
2. Vitaly Sharovatov, developer advocate, Qase: From Astrology to Code Reviews: Magical Thinking in Life, Software Development and QA
We don't use astrology in hiring, yet we often transfer past practices to new environments without question. We don’t rely on fortune cookies for product success, but we sometimes treat estimates as precise deadlines. These are just a few cognitive biases and mental traps that affect our decision-making in software development and QA.
In this talk, Vitaly will offer a rational approach to reduce the effects of biases, make better decisions, and work more effectively and happily.
3. Edward Schauman-Haigh, QA Architect, Odevo: Quality, Happiness, and Developer Productivity
As developers take on more testing responsibilities, where do quality engineers fit in? This talk frames quality engineering in a different light; as a form of platform engineering — one that makes developers' lives easier and their work more enjoyable while building better software.
