Hands-on Coding: Quantum Computing Basics Using Qiskit

Details

Curious to play around with the basics of quantum computing? Come join us on February 16th from 6-8pm ET on Duke campus where we will code up and run quantum circuits using Qiskit. Along the way we will discuss the basics of quantum computing and cover the fundamentals needed to explore on your own.

This is an in-person event and we aim to have a "lab" experience where attendees work on their personal devices to code and execute quantum circuits. As such, we have limited space. Please RSVP if you would like to attend.

For those attending:
We recommend installing Qiskit before you arrive. Please follow the instructions found at https://qiskit.org/documentation/getting_started.html . If you are not sure how to do this or have any trouble, don't fret, we'll spend the first few minutes making sure everyone is set up.

The meeting will be held in Brodhead Center. Parking is available in the Bryant Center Parking Garage https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bryan+Center+Parking+Garage/@36.0016288,-78.9421451,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xf93856a810b4dbef!8m2!3d36.0016288!4d-78.9421451

A campus map can be found here https://maps.duke.edu/ .

The event space for this meetup is provided by Duke's Polarization Lab (https://www.polarizationlab.com/). We thank them for their support and assistance in hosting this meetup on the Duke University campus.
