About us

The rapidly emerging quantum industry is harnessing quantum mechanics to solve the world’s hardest problems that are beyond the reach of classical techniques.

Quantum Driven NJ is an open forum where people can learn from industry, academic and government leaders about the latest developments and the powerful commercial impacts of this amazing science.

In-person presentations will cover a wide range of technical, business and investment topics:
• Quantum computing / sensing / networking / cryptography; photonics; quantum-related AI
• Business strategy, technology, research, applications, use cases, success stories, market trends, company formation, investing, etc…
• Quantum Applications for NJ industries: pharma, telecom, photonics, financial, etc…

SAS Quantum @ NJ AI Hub

NJ AI Hub, 619 Alexander Road, Princeton, NJ, US

Please join us on Thursday, May 14 at the NJ AI Hub to hear from Bill Wisotksy of SAS as we continue to explore all things quantum. And check out our new logo!

Two notable items: (1) this will be our first pure quantum software presentation and (2) what better place to hold this event than the NJ AI Hub! It is impossible to talk about quantum software without talking about AI.

The quantum algorithm market is largely untapped; it will be the software that ultimately brings value to the use cases. This is a white space opportunity for New Jersey to create new companies and train a large number of quantum software developers.

Quantum and AI work well together: AI helps calibrate qubits and correct errors in noisy quantum hardware, while some quantum algorithms are hybrid quantum-classical, where AI optimizes the parameters of the quantum algorithm and the Quantum Processor Unit (QPU) provides the quantum speedup. In NVIDIA's architecture, their CUDA-Q layer enables fast switching between QPUs, GPUs and CPUs.

    Bill’s talk:
Machine learning and artificial intelligence are frequently cited as areas where quantum computing may offer transformative advantages. Bill's discussion will focus on applied quantum computing, building an accessible foundation for what quantum computing is, and how it differs fundamentally from classical computation. He will explore some example quantum approaches to machine learning and artificial intelligence, emphasizing hybrid quantum–classical methods, near term algorithms, and the realities imposed by today’s hardware. The talk concludes with real-world applied examples that illustrate where quantum techniques are being investigated in practice and where they show promise.

    Quantum News
A brief update on the latest news from the quantum industry.

Bill Wisotsky is Principal Quantum Systems Architect for SAS, where he leads strategic technical direction for applied quantum engineering efforts, aligning research and development initiatives with customer goals. Bill’s research covers:

    • Quantum machine learning and AI in both analog and digital quantum computer paradigms using quantum reservoirs and variational circuits in classical/quantum hybrid setups.
    • The use of different quantum embeddings and ansatz for quantum machine learning and AI.
    • The integration of quantum technologies into current SAS product offerings.

    About the NJ AI Hub
The NJ AI Hub aims to unite AI researchers, industry leaders, startups, and collaborators to grow the AI ecosystem in New Jersey by enabling world-class research and development, spurring innovation, and training an AI-boosted workforce in collaboration with New Jersey educational institutions.

    About SAS
SAS is a global leader in data and AI. Founded in the late 1960s to develop a general purpose statistical software package to analyze agricultural data, the resulting program – the Statistical Analysis System – gave SAS both the basis for its name and its corporate beginnings. Since then, SAS has grown to become one of the largest privately held software companies in the world.

Many thanks to the NJ AI Hub for co-sponsoring our event and providing a venue where our community can explore all things quantum!!
