What we’re about
This meetup group purpose is to learn and share information about quantum computing and general quantum technologies uses in the real world.
Targeted members are researchers, physicists, software developers, data scientists but also entrepreneurs, companies and investors looking to get more into this fields.
During meetups we plan to have technical and theoretical discussions, demos and case studies related to fields of interest.

See all- A Framework for Secure Financial Transactions with Relativistic Quantum TokensNeeds location
Research into quantum money dates back to the 1980s, with security rooted in the no-cloning theorem and the inherent uncertainty of quantum measurements. However, practical implementation has long been delayed by the absence of quantum memory. This project bridges the gap by integrating quantum and classical techniques to demonstrate a proof-of-concept transaction system. Combining quantum communication and cryptography, the project combine quantum key distribution, hashing, and GPS-based time synchronization protocols to create a secure quantum banknote framework. This approach enables the anonymous generation, exchange, and verification of quantum banknotes while maintaining robust security against counterfeiting.
Isa Tippens is a Computer Science student at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, studying towards a MSc degree in Computer Science with a focus in quantum computing.
