What we’re about

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this group is to come in community together to heal our nervous system, to reduce stress, to come back to a sense of vitality. We experience trauma usually in relationships (in our early relationships with caregivers or other people in our lives) - so we heal in connection as well. We heal through co-regulating our nervous systems.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

The event goes like this: we come together in my private home studio on Queen West and have an opening circle where you can share whatever it is you are going through (stress, overwhelm, loss, etc). We feel into the collective intention. I guide you through a few restorative yoga poses (all super comfortable and supportive poses where you can melt away and relax) while Madison is playing instruments (crystal bowls, guitar, ukulele, flute, etc) and singing medicine songs.

While Madison is singing and playing the instruments that support whatever the energy flow is in the room in that moment, I am walking around offering hands on reiki energy healing. You are always free to opt out of Reiki for the evening if that is not something you are open to.

The entire evening lasts 2 hours and is plenty of time to rest, restore, relax and come into a deep meditation. Restorative yoga is not about stretching or strength - it is aout melting away and relaxing. Each person has their own mat, 2 bolsters, blocks, pillow and blanket - everything to make sure they are comfortable. You don't have to bring anything with you. But if you want - you can bring your favourite blanket or mat, or anything else you need.

It allows you to process your feelings (grief, sadness, sense of loss, etc) really, anything you might be working through. Or even just to tap into JOY if there is nothing heavy going on in your life. You will be filled with a deep sense of peace and optimism.

WHO SHOULD JOIN:

you should join us if you:

  • have been going through burn out, working too much and not resting enough,
  • feel chronically depleted of energy and have been running on low battery for quite some time;
  • feel like you can’t take in a full breath of air;
  • have been going through a tough time (grief, loss, sadness, processing trauma),
  • want to deeply rest, stay still and receive because you have been giving too much to others,
  • want to access unprocessed emotions (anger, sadness, grief) that you have been stuffing down for a while,
  • want to release emotions of grief, loss, sadness,
  • want to tap deeper into joy, expansion, deeper self-love, self-appreciation,
  • know there is something in you that needs to come out,
  • want to sigh a giant sigh of relief,
  • have been neglecting yourself and avoiding taking care of yourself,
  • want to be gentle and soft with yourself,
  • know there is too much going on right now for you and you need to retreat from the hustle and bustle of your daily to do list.

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN:

this is a very unique offering combining the healing power of sound and yoga that will support you in whatever you are going through. Both practitioners are very experienced teachers and are very skilful in creating a safe container for your healing to happen. We are not the healers of YOU. YOU are the healer. We just create the space and the right atmosphere and the right energy for YOUR HEALING TO UNFOLD. We support the healing process as it unfolds naturally. We do not interfere and we do not guide you. You will go through the process you need to go through. We trust you to have the experience you need to have.

Community:

Join us for a relaxing night of restorative yoga with reiki and a soothing soundbath featuring healing medicine songs and live music (flute, guitar, ukulele, crystal bowls, etc). We start with an opening circle where you can share whatever is on your heart. You will be seen and heard. We offer unconditional positive regard and presence when you speak and share. We hold safe space for you to express and process. Tears are welcome. All feelings are welcome. We are 2 very skilled facilitators, and although we are not acting in the role of therapists, the circle, the community will hold you while you express and feel what you feel.

After the event is over we guide a closing circle where everyone is welcome to share how they feel, what shifts they experienced and anything else that may be on your heart and mind. Through this open hearted sharing we establish safety and create a space where everyone can be exactly who they are, everyone can be seen and heard in a supportive space.
