About us

Our group will go on nature adventures to local Queens parks, such as Alley Pond Park. This group is both an opportunity to meet likeminded people and to also learn a lot about our local ecology.

I am a naturalist, and I have been exploring the ecology of Alley Pond Park for over seven years. Alley Pond Park is home to a large diversity of native plants, birds, mammals, insects, as well as mushrooms and fungi. The meetups will be guided walks where I will talk about the ecology of the woods. We will visit the 15,000 year old kettle ponds that were formed when the Wisconsin Ice sheet receded northward, and we will learn to identify many trees, plants and fungi that grow in the woodlands we visit.

If you're looking to become more familiar with the nature around you and to have a beautiful time in a serene woodland, less than an hour from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, then join me on our nature adventures.
