QT&c Classical Misfits: Community Welcome Gathering and Musical Offering

Queer and Trans Classical Misfits presents: Community Welcome Gathering and Musical Offerings (Virtual)! This gathering is for those of us who love the stuff called classical music (Western in my own case; all beloved classical traditions belong here) and are tired of being told implicitly or otherwise that, as people of the Left, we shouldn't.

If you find yourself bound to classical music but alienated from its cultural institutions by other difference such as race, ability, religion, class background, being an angry socialist, etc., please come! We're all part of this. There is no way forward but together.

If you're into "classical stuff" (W.H. Auden's delightful phrase) of non-musical varieties (literary, etc.) and have similar grievances, you belong here, too!

Event Format: 1) Introductions, names, personal stories (just listening okay, too); 2) Musical Offering: take turns sharing a short-ish recording of a classical piece that means something to you, with time for (supportive) discussion
