C'mon Out: Oregon Business Speed Networking Hour

Details
Hello QB'ers!
Can you believe its been NEARLY A YEAR since we met around a table for drinks, food and laughs? FYI, I'm stalking a few joints with outdoor areas large enough to dine socially distant...maybe around a fire (looking at you Cornelius Pass Roadhouse.) Please keep an eye out for invites as soon as it warms up!
In the meantime I want to invite y'all to PABA's (Portland Area Business Association - Oregon's LGBTQ+ Chamber) Monthly Speed Networking Hour!
ABOUT THE EVENT
PABA's social chair Molly Smithson (she/her) will start us off riffing on how queer culture and comedy go hand in hand, and the ways brands can capitalize on real-life humor for social media awesomeness. After our first round of speed networking, PABA member Michael Jonas of Rational Unicorn will chat about the ins and outs of his law firm. We will finish the hour with another few rounds of 5 minute 2 person breakout room networking.
This is a free event and open to all.
Bonus - Make sure to remind guests to mention you when they register for the event on Zoom. The person who invites the most attendees will win a $50 Visa gift card!
I look forward to seeing ya tomorrow night! It should be a hoot.
Take care,
b.

ABOUT RATIONAL UNICORN
Rational Unicorn Legal Services is a community based business law firm. This December was the start of the firm’s 4th year. The firm offers pay-as-you-go legal services including but not limited to business formation, contract review and drafting, trademark and copyright applications, and conflict resolution. The firm is an Oregon Benefit Company and strongly believes in and practices the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profits.
Passionate about community engagement, Michael dedicates time to volunteering with several nonprofit organizations. He currently serves on three nonprofit boards: New Leaders Council (NLC), the hub for progressive Millennial thought leadership; Hatch Innovation, a social entrepreneurial innovation incubator; and The Main Street Alliance of Oregon, the local chapter of a national network of state-based small business coalitions.
ABOUT MOLLY
After half a decade of agency work, Molly Smithson returned to her hometown of Portland to pursue comedy and began freelancing in digital marketing.
She discovered that effective digital strategy often costs too much for the majority of start-ups and small businesses. Within a year, Molly founded Arete (pronounced Are-et-AY!) Media, a radical marketing agency that helps brands thrive online and become iconic. In the three years since, Arete has been lucky to have amazing opportunities working with socially-conscious Pacific NW brands to reach millions, and exponentially increase digital engagement.
Before the pandemic, you may have seen her onstage as Molligolightly, over-sharing her experiences as a ‘bisexual, bipedal, bipolar’ at Helium Comedy Club, Funhouse Lounge and Harvey's Comedy Club, among other PNW venues. Nowadays, you can catch her at outdoor open mics in parking lots, but hey, at least the jokes live on!
