Join us at the Hi Pointe Theatre on June 1st at 2:00pm to watch the documentary 1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted Culture.

As part of QFest, an annual celebration of LGBTQ+ cinema, we’re showing this film as an opportunity for different religious groups to come together to not only watch the film, but to engage in a post-film discussion moderated by Rev. Lauren Bennett, Lead Pastor at Metropolitan Community Church of Greater Saint Louis.

Tickets are 15 dollars a person, or 10 dollars for groups of 10+

Movie Synopsis: Seeking to uncover the origins of the rabid homophobia of the conservative church, a gay seminary scholar and a straight activist make a shocking discovery: In 1946 an erroneous translation of the term homosexual in the Bible that has been weaponized against the LGBTQIA+ community ever since.
