Mistress of the Desert
by Anna Perach
The Raphael Cartoons,
Room 48a
Through tufting, Anna Perach
transforms female archetypes
into sculptural hybrids that
explore identity, gender
and craft. She engages with
historical narratives through
the depiction of enigmatic
female characters, myths and
ancient ceremonial rites.
Two wearable sculptures–
‘The Wandering Pelvis’ and
‘Warrior’ reference femininity,
maternity, bonding and stories
of displacement, illustrating a
ritualistic order performed
by a female tribe.

Queering the Mind,
Releasing the Body
The Globe, Europe 1600–1815
Room 4
19:50 and 20:40
Duration: about 30 minutes
Rooted in queerness,
intersectional feminism and
mental health, this immersive,
multi-sensorial performance
invites audiences to imagine
fluid identities in a meditative

Affirming the survival of
her ancestors’ indigenous
knowledge, Mexican-British
artist Mónica Alcázar-Duarte
examines western society’s
obsession with speed,
expansion and resource
accumulation as ecological
disasters loom.
The performance explores
botanical classificatory systems
to discuss ideas of technological
categorisations, migration
and how language has been
used as a form of erasure and
assertion. The performance is
accompanied by the screening
of ‘U K’ux Kaj / Heart of sky,
Mayan god of storms’.
9pm onwards
Flora Yin Wong
and CHOOC LY
The Grand Entrance,
Cromwell Road

through sounds of activism
and change-making. Artist,

femininity, expect ethereal,
soft notes to kick off the
night, followed by heavier
environmental beats from
female-identifying artists.
Artist and DJ CHOOC LY is
on the decks from 20:00,
she will be spinning new
visions of reality, and forging
emotional connections through
kaleidoscopic spectrums of
club music and futuristic sound.
